After Tharman announced that he would leave PAP to run for presidency, there have been conversations about who will be taking his place at Jurong GRC. Some even suggested that PAP may be allowing Ivan Lim to return. However, it seems like PAP has made their decision on possibly fielding Dr Hamid Razak.
Hamid Razak has been making his presence at recent events in Jurong.
Who is Hamid Razak?
Dr Hamid Razak is a Consultant and an ex-Chief Resident in the specialty of Orthopaedic Surgery at Singapore General Hospital. He is currently a consultant at Sengkang General Hospital, a role that he has held since November 2020.
He graduated with a Bachelor in Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) in 2009. During his first two postgraduate years in Singapore General Hospital, he won the “SingHealth Outstanding House Officer Award” as well as the “SingHealth Outstanding Medical Officer Award”.
Having disrupted from National Service to read medicine, Hamid was re-enlisted in 2010. He performed exceedingly well in the Medical Officer Cadet Course and was awarded the prestigious Sword of Merit.
He studied at ACS (Independent) before going to the “lousy school” Raffles Junior College.
He has been active in Taman Jurong since 2015.
In June 2015, Hamid Razak joined the Active Aging Committee in Taman Jurong GRC. He served as Taman Jurong Citizens’ Consultative Committee member from January 2016 to September 2021, before becoming its secretary in October 2021.
So far, commenters seem approving of him.
